ASSESSOR’S MEETING MINUTES
DECEMBER 18, 2003
7:00 P.M. Called meeting to order. Present: Richard Gorden, Paula Keefe and
Mark Mazur
1. The Board reviewed and approved the minutes to our December 4, 2003 meeting.
2. The Board read a notice in the Sharon Advocate re-scheduling a meeting where the
Administrative Assessor will discuss property exemptions.
3. The Board signed public notices related to the annual filing of Form of List/3ABC
forms.
4. The Board reviewed and then signed pro forma tax bills for fiscal years 2003 and
2004, for exempt property on Winslow Road that was sold to a taxable entity.
5. The Board read letters from a Mr. & Mrs. Donovan concerning their application
for abatement and the increase in their assessed value after the public notification
period.
6. The Board re-reviewed a proposed letter to the Selectmen updating our estimate of
the cost of increasing clause 41C exemption amounts from $500 to $1,000 for fiscal
year 2005.
7. The Board was reminded that they are scheduled to discuss the tax rate setting
process at the January 13, 2004 meeting of the Board of Selectmen.
8. The Board reviewed proposed changes to the job description of our Senior Clerk
position and letters from the Administrative Assessor and the Board of Assessors
to the personnel board recommending changes to the rating of the position.
9. The Board took the following actions on the following fiscal year 2004 applications
